Isn’t she THE BEST? I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of these puppies for a long while.
She came from a newly discovered flea market and cost one dollar. I love her more than I can say.
(those ARE pot holders, right??)
I’ve made several recent acquisitions that have yet to make it to this blog. This particular one, however, deserves prompt posting.

These adorable reading children are set on rocking chairs and their eyes wink when they rock back and forth.
They fill me with such joy.
I found a fabulous vintage tree topper on eBay last week. We put in a bid, and we got it!
It arrived today. I can’t stop smilin’!
The starburst behind her glows with white lights positioned behind it.
Perfection? I think so!
Now to start thinking about the rest of the tree. You better BELIEVE there will be a Christmas tree-related post soon. Stay tuned!
I never would have thought I could get so excited about a simple sugar bowl. Yet here I am.
This sugar bowl is all caps AWESOME.
Her dress is the bowl. You lift the lid by grabbing onto her bonnet. AWESOME, huh? 
Unfortunately she has a couple of small chips. But I just couldn’t leave her. That’s true love.
And I can’t help but wonder…. is she a part of a set?? Some research may be in order…

In related news, I’ve been making early attempts at decluttering the kitchen counter lately. It was beginning to get out of control (difficult to imagine for anyone who has read this blog, I’m sure). I’ll blog about it sooner or later lol
I got a new plant the other day! A huge fern — something I’ve always wanted, but have never really seen for sale looking healthy. This one came from Kent (love their greenhouse!) for just ten bucks.
Since I had the camera pointed at my plants, I thought I’d snap a few of these “plant decorations” I bought a couple months ago. I didn’t even know such a thing existed! I guess I’m still a rookie after all.
Cute huh? They are wooden with the little googly eyes and they are the best.
Turns out taking photos of plants in windows is nearly impossible, so here are the other two I got.
This past weekened I also got two wooden flowers that have made their home in my window sill garden. I’m pretty sure they are actually meant for outdoor gardens.
One last thing concerning plants. I never posted this photo I took when the leaves outside were pretty colours. I came across the photo the other day and I really like it! So I wanna share it.

This metal serving tray (I guess it’s a serving tray?) came from an auction. For free!
My recipe book. The inside is filled with lined paper of differing colours. And some of my favourite recipes, of course!
Three “insulated hot mats” (so they say on the back) I got at Salvation Army a couple years ago.
This clock hangs above the window. I believe my parents received it as a wedding gift in 1979.
Another item acquired from my parents’ house. A heart-shaped soap dish I remember being in their own kitchen when I was a kid.
This sits on the counter. It’s for storing nuts, I presume? We don’t eat many nuts, so it’s just for decoration in our house.
My wonderful spice rack, purchased from a thrift store last year for six dollars.

Measure! As of right now, I don’t have any measuring cups hanging off of this, it just kinda sits on the counter.
Self-explanatory. One of these days I’ll make a post about my mug collection.
The kitchen table. I purchased the table cloth at the Dollar Store! lol. I’ve been playing with the idea of painting the chairs. The squirrels in the middle of the table are our salt and pepper salt and pepper shakers. Do you realize how foolish it is to salt and pepper your food with squirrels? It’s quite foolish.

A latch hook skunk pillow!
I picked up this complete latch hook kit today for a couple bucks. It is thoroughly awesome. The contents in the box SMELL like the 70s. A most delicious scent, in my mind.
I shall post the finished product once complete. I’ve never latch hooked before… Wish me luck!
